According to Niklas Luhmann, trust is a mechanism for reducing social complexity that enables individuals to remain capable of acting in their environment. Since the environment is always more complex than the individual, the latter is dependent on dealing with ignorance. The fragility of trust relationships is visualized by the influence of a vector field on a multitude of cubes, which form the word ›trust‹ at the beginning of the simulation, thus expressing clarity as well as stability. In the further course of the simulation the cubes grouped into clusters dissolve in the flow field, the good shape and thus unambiguity is lost, complexity increases.
