Rubicon
For the visualization of a ›Point of no Return‹ a classical example was used: Caesar's crossing of the river Rubicon: ›alea iacta est‹ (The die is cast). Caesar irrevocably became an outlaw.
The vanishing point perspective creates an indispensable pull effect. A texture modified with procedural algorithms (cube throwing) was projected onto a tube bent several times and extroded according to the texture values.
The result is a cold and strange mountainous landscape with cliffy rock faces, a metaphor for insurmountable hopelessness.
